General description: The flood basin of Tisza between Rakamaz and Tuzsér. It features flood basin marsh meadows, meadows and fields, poplar platations, softwood gallery forests and resort areas.
Ornithological specification: Here lives Central-Europe’s most significant sand martin livestock. (largest number and largest volume of nesting sand martins). It is a significant bird community, too, there are a large number of rambling heron species who are dining in the area. It is significant black stork migratory site. 100-110 pair of white storks lay their eggs in the surrounding settlements, which main purpose is dining in the area.
Land usage: forest management, fishing, nature protection, tourism, hunting and wildlife management, water management.
Threatning factors: Intensive forest management, substitution of natural forests for poplar plantations, tourism and firewood collecting causes problems. The floodings of Tisza occasionally destroys the sand martin settlements.
