General description: The Bodrog lies in an area enclosed by the Hernád and the north-eastern border of the country. The Zemplén vulcanic origin medium height mountain with great ground level difference, gulch valleys and with meadows in enclosed valleys. It is covered mainly by submontane and montane beeches and oaks. Szerencsi-hills lies near the foot of Zempléni-mountain
Ornithological specification: One of the most important bird of prey habitat in Hungary. It possesses a really various bird avifauna, especially the woodland species (woodpeckers, flycatchers) live in a large number of the place. The heavy birds of prey and the black storks are regularly feed at the outskirts and in the river valleys.
Land usage: Built-in area, forestry, agriculture (grassland management, arable cultivation), nature proctection and research, tourism, hunting, wildlife management, water management.
Threatning factors: Afforestation, intesive forestry, development of the instrastructure, industrialization, urbanization, extracting industries, disturbance of the birds, decrease of agriculture, abandonment of the agriculture, collecting of firewood, tourism, recreation, water management problems.
