National importance „ex lege” protected natural areas are called natural areas pronounced by the law (law LIII. in relation to nature protection from 1996.). „Ex lege” protected natural areas are fens, sodic lakes, cumanian hillocks, earth forts, wells and sinkholes . Caverns are also „ex lege” protected, but these – concerning their nature – are protected natural values.

Protected natural areas by the force of law: („ex lege”)

  • the following areas are considered as nature conservation areas:
    • Fen: One fen can be found in the Sárospatak micro region, Zsidó-meadow (16.742 hectare), in the outer part Komlóska.
    • Sodic lakes: No any sodic lake can be found in Sárospatak micro region area.
  • the following areas are considered as natural memories:
    • Cumanian hillock: No any cumanian hillock can be found in Sárospatak micro region area.
    • Earth fort: Two earth forts can be found in the area of Sárospatek micro region: Vár-mountain (Erdőhorváti), Pusztavár or Solymos castle (Komlóska – Erdőhorváti)
    • Well: 230 wells can be found in the area of Sárospatak micro region
    • Sinkhole: No any sinkhole can be found in Sárospatak micro region area.

Protected natural values by the force of law: („ex lege”)

  • Caverns: No any protected natural values can be found in the area of Sárospatak micro region.
