The biggest part of the Sárospatak micro region is covered with brown forest ground (~52,9 %). The clay washed brown forest ground is primarily specific at the Zempléni mountain range, the browngrounds (Ramann-type brown forest grounds) cover Hegyalja, mainly the foot of the mountain, while the layered brown forest ground covers the Kenézlő-Viss-Zalkod sand ridge. The meadow soils (R) can be found in the ~31,1 % of the area, including the typical meadow soil, which is specific mainly in the middle part of Bodrogköz, but it occurs in a little spot in the northeast border of Sárospatak. . The young, raw alluvial soils which are covering the area of micro region by ~14 %, are mainly specific along the separator rivers of Bodrogköz, Bodrog and Tisza. The area is covered by frame soils (~1,2 %), and from these, the occurence of stony and earthy bares are primarily specific in the area of Hercegkút, while the humous sandy soil’s stains which are formed in alluvial residue can be found in Bodrogköz. The regional rate of marsh soils is small (~ 0,7 %). They only appear in little stains at the border of Györgytarló, primarily in contemporary wetlands – now drained – which are formed in surface depressions. Sandy pise (pise physical type), which is also formed in alluvial residue and meadowy pouring soil covers the Bodrog side of Bodrogköz.
